“It is hard to let old beliefs go. They are familiar. We are comfortable with them and have spent years building systems and developing habits that depend on them. Like a man who has worn eyeglasses so long that he forgets he has them on, we forget that the world looks to us the way it does because we have become used to seeing it that way through a particular set of lenses. Today, however, we need new lenses. And we need to throw the old ones away." — Kenich Ohmae Change is always difficult but without change there is no progress. There are many breeders at this time importing Cream Goldens to enrich their own Goldens. It is not for the coat color that they do this but to add structure and soundness to our American bred Goldens. I find it strange that we except the need for change in our breeding programs but not in our parent club or AKC. It offends me every time I AKC register one of my European Creams as light gold and pay for the right to do so because it is my only choice. I have imported Goldens from different countries in Europe. their parents are not only international champions and widely accepted in Europe but are not penalized because of their rich cream coloring. So why does the AKC and GRCA here in the states feel that they must stand alone on this issue. A cream coat should not be a deciding factor in what makes a great Golden.
Nice looking Dog!
