Ho-Ho-Ho- Tees and Sweats For Sweeties
If you like this or either of the other two designs, you may be able to purchase either a sweatshirt or long sleeved Tee-- if you've been good all year. Contact Bill Droll for details.
If you support this effort to amend the color clause of the American Breed Standard please copy this form and sign it. Then send it via e-mail to Bill Droll at curtisaurgwyn@hotmail.com. Together we can get this done. There is NO reason to stand alone, when the entire world has accepted the cream coats as legitimate.
AurGwyn Golden Retriever kennel continues to advocate for change in the color clause of the breed standard of the GRCA/AKC. There is no reason to continue the policy of viewing the cream-born Golden Retrievers as "undesirable." The world knows better. We should do the right thing for the sake of our beloved breed.
WHITE MYTHOLOGY
Why do breeders insist on calling their cream-coated Golden Retrievers WHITE?. They are not. White is the absence of ALL color. White Goldens are as likely to occur in a litter as BLACK ones. In fact, the latter-- in theory, at least --is more likely. In the history of our breed we've had black dogs, red dogs, yellow dogs, brown dogs; but never has any breeder used white dogs. The myth of white Russian circus dogs is just that-- a myth.

BREEDING IN AMERICA-- IMPORT X IMPORT
Please bear in mind that these pairings represent ONLY new arrivals to new arrivals. None of the breedings listed-- to the best of my knowledge --represent combinations from these breedings or a breeding of an import to a dog or bitch produced by these match ups. Considering those likely possibilities, the American gene pool for the English/European Golden Retriever is large and growing.
Our Friends North of the Border
For those of us interested in our breed and its improvement, we can look to Canada and its recent imports. Rossmix Morning Rain, Linirgor T'Estimo and Summeramba One For the Road are recent additions. They join the likes of Raynox Heart of Gold, Remington Rupert Bear, Linirgor Must Be Luv, Trewater Secret Romance, Sundowner de Ria Vela and Zampanzar Jungle Joy. And others of course.
There have also been import x import or artificially inseminated breedings of note. Some of those are:
Zampanzar Jungle Joy x
Kilkenny von Babelsbergi
Raynox Face the Fact
Gofetch Gold-N-Diamonds
Ganwales Pretzel
Mad About You de Ria Vela x
Castlerock Shimmering Star

And A Chicken Shall Lead Them?
There are hundreds, no thousands, of Americans who own cream-coated Golden Retrievers. Many are members in good standing of the Golden Retriever Club of America. The vast majority are registered with the AKC. Isn't it time that we received equal treatment with those who own "gold" Golden Retrievers? It's the same breed folks. But nothing will change if you refuse to speak out. Let these organizations know that the Standard should be updated.
Thevenet Cuties and Beauties
Who doesn't love puppies and kittens? Especially if the pups are Golden Retrievers. This photo is one of a number posted by Santi Gadea (THEVENET Golden Retrievers) on his website. Many of us in the States have been fortunate enough to import Goldens from his kennel, and he continues to offer pups of outstanding quality. It is nice to know that we can trust him to offer American fanciers breeding stock truly worthy of the conformation ring and true to type.

We are more than happy to add the folks at Talini to our EGRITS website. Stacy has done her best to import the best of European Golden Retriever stock. She has produced excellent results in her breeding program, incorporating many of the top Goldens in Europe.
Perhaps even more important, she has taken care to place her pups in loving homes.
Hopefully we can work together to convince the GRCA/AKC that quality begets quality, and that coat color is of far less importance than overall structure and temperament in our breed. Whether for pet or show, all of us should do our best to breed to the ideal, to the Breed Standard of the nation of origin.

CREAM is a Stand-ALONE color
BRITS HAVE REGISTERED CREAMS SINCE 2000
Many of the top American "authorities" in the breed continue to insist that cream is simply a SHADE of gold, NOT a separate color. Some of these American "authorities" have publicly claimed that the Brits misinterpret their own national Breed Standard .They say that those who wrote the standard were speaking about dogs with lighter shading perhaps, but not an overall body color of cream. The folks in Merrie Olde Englande were simply confused. Americans know better. After all, to be a TRUE Golden Retriever a dog must be TRULY gold.
In 2000, The Golden Retriever Club provided us with an undeniable clarification. Within the Standard itself they inserted the phrase:
"From 2000, only Cream, Gold or Golden will be accepted by the KC on registration."
The Standard reads," Any shade of gold or cream, neither red nor mahogany. A few white hairs on chest only permissible."
In other words, any shade of gold or (any shade of) cream, neither (any shade of) red nor (any shade of) mahogany. So you can register your Golden as cream or gold.
But in clarifying, the Brits have offered a third option--Golden. What'supwiththat? Cream is NOT gold but what distinguishes Gold from Golden? Would someone care to enlighten me?

LOOK WHO's HERE
EXCITING ADDITIONS TO THE AMERICAN GENE POOL--PUPS FROM TOP-PRODUCING STUD DOGS IN EUROPE ARE HERE IN THE USA AND CANADA--2013
Have you fallen in love with some of the outstanding Golden Retrievers in Europe? Would you love to have a son? A daughter? You may not have to go to Europe to bring these dogs into your breeding program. Through direct purchase or by means of artificial insemination their progeny have crossed The Pond.
Nearly two dozen recent arrivals are noteworthy. And there are some planned breedings as well.
Perhaps you fancy the Ritzilyn line. There are pups by R Rick O' Shay, R Male Order, and soon R Manhattan. If Dewmist impresses you, there are offspring from D Servantes, D Silk Screen, D Silkventure, and D Sandoliano. From Erinderry there are representatives from E Diamond Edge of Glenavis and E Just The Ticket From Bluewaters. And don't forget the Shardanell brothers-- S Castaspell and S Talk O' The Town at Ipcress. Other arrivals are out of Ashbury Angel Heart, Majik Truth Or Dare and his dad Majik Finders Keepers, Inassicas Coriander, and Abinvale Traguardo. And also pups by Mad About You de Ria Vela, Camrose Time To Return, Xanthos Mondriaan (he's in America now), Ronjalee Ragamuffin at Motlaisa, and Baron of Stanroph du Domaine des Rives de l'Erdre. Finally, a litter by From a Rose del Valle de Pielagos and a youngster who can claim Gold Digger du Bois de la Rayere as his dad.
Together they represent nearly two dozen reasons for believing that the European Golden Retriever is alive and well in the States. And there may be many more that I am not aware of at this time. Let's hope that the breeders who own these fine specimens see fit to continue to build on the tradition of the ORIGINAL Golden Retriever-- the English or European type.
